50% Cash Back Sale @ DRD

Death Row Designs is currently in the process of moving from one sim to another. To celebrate that which has been and that which will be there is a 50% cash back sale going on. Basically what happens is you pay the vendor full price for the product and right after it is delivered you'll receive 50% of the price back automatically.

The sale is going on at both the old location and the new one. Being a huge DrD fan I of course couldn't help but take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to add to my ever growing collection of Jaimy's creations.

DRD Burtonized Skybox 2
This time around I went for the "Burtonized Skybox" and one of the outfits available. The majority of complete outfits in the stores have also been drastically reduced in price to just L$ 99 and you still get your 50% money back on those too which is a cracking deal.

Burtonized Skybox

Along with browsing all of the sale items while you're at the store don't forget to check out the lucky chairs and Midnight Mania boards which are stuffed full of DrD goodies. One of the MM boards has the other DrD skybox "Forsaken Love" in it with just 250 slaps required.

Have fun and happy shopping.
Until next time,

Beautiful Second Life - XIV

Some places in Second Life are truly breath taking and today I took a trip to one such place - [.XIV]
  XIV - Little House
I had a wonderful time wandering around this intriguing place taking pictures to share with you. I was both glad to have had the opportunity and also sad to learn that the sim is closing on the first of June.

There is a very touching story linked to the creation of the sim, its evolution over the last year and its closure. You can read about it on the sim blog and/or see it through pictures people have taken that are featured in the [.XIV] group on Flickr.

XIV - Tick Tock

I highly recommend a visit to this exquisite sim before the doors are closed. I think that I'll end up going back again a time or two before Friday and will most likely end up taking more pictures that will end up on my Flickr.

Men Only Hunt I

Now that the sun is hidden away behind the clouds again I've retreated from the garden back into the house and exchanged a cool glass of juice for a cup of tea!

As I was sipping my first cup of the day I thought I'd amuse myself by having a look for some of the items available in the Men Only Hunt. I enjoyed looking around a variety of stores while seeking out the ipod hunt item with the help of a few hints. I love hunts, not only for the free goodies, but also because it helps me discover stores I would otherwise probably never get to find out about

I'm going to show you some of my favourite items from the hunt over a couple of posts starting off with this complete male avatar from (Red)Sand.

RedSand complete avatar

Inside the gift box you receive everything you can see in the picture above. You get the shape, skin, glasses, mesh shorts, eyes and eye make-up in several colour variants. The band-aids covering the body come on clothing layers which you can wear or not depending on what you prefer.

Filthy Shadz Illmatic

Next we have a mixture of Men Only Hunt items and the newest group gift from Filthy. This is a group well worth joining and for the next couple of weeks you can do so free of charge (usual fee L$199).

I am wearing the May male skin and shape group gift combination "Juldas" from Filthy along with the hunt gifts from Shadz (glasses) and Illmatic's cotton briefs in black.

Ragdoll's and snapbackswagg MOH gifts

The last look in this post has Ragdoll's cut shape for the men only hunt hidden beneath Filthy's skin and the [SBS] mesh LA Clippers open hoodie. There is a worn-backwards baseball cap in the SnapBackSwagg gift which is not shown here.

As a little addition I thought I'd mention that the poses used in this post are also available in the Men Only Hunt from Expressive poses.

Look Into My (Mesh) Eyes.

Insufferable Dastard recently released their first line of mesh eyes. Following up from that every pair of eyes available in the store have been updated to come in a mesh version as well.

With the exception of the newest release, Reflections, the mesh version of each style is currently separate from the main base and prim version and for a limited time these mesh only versions have been reduced to just L$50.

ID MESH Eyes - Ultimate - Hazel

In the picture above I'm showing you ID's mesh "Ultimate" eyes in the hazel. As you can clearly see there are three shades in this pack and two different versions. You get the Dark Hazel, Faded Hazel and Hazel tones and each tone comes with large and regular sized pupils.

What you can't see is that with the "Ultimate" eyes you get two sizes to pick from. I am showing the larger size here in the hope you will be able to see them better.

I must also say that they are much prettier and more detailed than these pictures really show.

ID MESH Eyes - Basics Green.

There is a good selection of eye styles at ID. Along with the 'human' sets of eyes like the "Basic" in green above and the "Ultimate" eyes above those they have cat eyes, goat eyes, big 'chibi' eyes and some sci-fi/alien eyes too!

This is an great opportunity to get beautifully crafted eyes at rock bottom prices so why not take a peek before the sale comes to an end.

I purchased this awesome robot avatar some time ago from Eclectic Randomness. I really like the quirky products from this store and this avatar is certainly no exception.

If you've followed my blog, or visited before you'll probably be aware that I choose to run around Second Life as a neko, so the neko add-on paws, ears and tail that are available were a must have!

The great thing about this avatar is that it comes modifiable. You can change the colour of every segment, or alter it as you want. I applaud and thank creators that allow to you put your own stamp on things after creating a 'base' for you to work from. It's great to be able to make an avatar your own.

There is a version for the guys as well as this one for the girls both of which have a selection of hair and a few accessories available to purchase for them.

For the last couple of days I've been running around in this avatar using an AO that compliments it perfectly. It is currently a free item on the marketplace available from my favourite AO maker, Diaz Papp, creator of Oracul products.

All of the poses you can see in the images above (as well as many more) are animations contained within the AO itself. I absolutely love this AO. It's fun, quirky and has the very familiar 'jerk' to the animations giving it a realistic robotic feel. I don't know what else I can say really, it's very well made and I can't speak highly enough of it. This is a really good quality freebie.

Thank you Diaz!

Cheap n Cheerful

I found myself at a bit of a loose end the last couple of days so I've been stalking the blogs and feeds I follow as well as browsing the marketplace looking for items that hold appeal to me.

The pretty little lass in the picture below is the result of that and I think she's rather cute for a "thrown together" avatar.

Budget babe

One item that seemed to crop up in the feeds a lot was Al Vulo's Debbie "Oh Deer" skin and I can understand why, it's beautiful! I hopped over to the main store, joined the group for free and gratefully accepted this generous gift.

Now I had a skin I decided to find some new things to go with it.

While browsing the marketplace I came across one of the promotional deals on offer from Ducknipple. I really like the items made by beanster Potato so it was a no brainer. I had originally purchased it purely for the capri pants (to go on regular Kook) but ended up using the entire outfit on Miss Pretty up there.

I hadn't realised at the time of purchase that there was a "reference shape" inside the "Street" outfit box.  It is a no modify shape, but that doesn't matter at all when it has been so wonderfully composed.

There is a modifiable version of the shape for sale here if you like to tweak things a little. It is the model shape beanster uses for the SLX promotional outfits. Personally, I don't think much needs changing at all. I like it just as it is.

So, with a shape that seemed to compliment the skin nicely and an out of the box outfit wrapped around my new shape the only thing missing was hair. I am not really one for keeping a million and one different hair styles in my inventory and had already decided that as everything else I was wearing was new the hair should be too.

I spent a while wandering and thinking of places I could go and look for some nice hair when I realised I hadn't visited Magika in a while. Once I was there I saw a new gift for subscribo members. I clicked the board and had me some pretty hair...mesh hair at that. Awesome!

Over all I am pleased with how things turned out in the end. I am quite amazed that all it took to create it was a time, a little knowledge, brain power, patience and L$95. If I could change one thing I would probably take the time to find some different hair with a fringe. I think a fringe would suit her and I might still do that somewhere down the line.

As a bonus doing this kept me out of mischief for a while which is never a bad thing!

I scream, you scream...

... We all scream for ice cream!

Strawb vanilla and Choco mint border

This fun little avatar is available from Peeps Fashion free of charge if you can find the "This is totally me" pink star hunt object in the store. The hunt runs from the first to the last day of May so you still have a couple of weeks to find it if you're like me and love funky items like this.

The avatar is scripted with the ability to change the ice cream flavours and facial expressions on the main body as well as the ice cream held in your hand. Along with that you can also change the colour of the gloves and shoes so it's very customisable indeed!

It's a Cat's Life

Framed kitty

I showed off my black Zooby's mesh cat a little while back now when my friend Dido and I were running around getting under people's feet and nibbling on shoe laces.

Today I wanted to show you this very sweet picture I took of my ginger Zooby's cat. I absolutely love the markings on the head and body of this one. It has a tiger-like quality and yet the smooth cuteness and vibrant colours of a domestic kitty.

I really enjoy roaming about in this avatar and often get compliments when I am wearing it. I love the realistic way it moves whether it is simply cycling through the available animations or you have used the HUD to select a specific one to fit the situation you are in. There are a few animations to select from and though it would be nice to have more I do like the variety. You can be a bouncing pouncing kitty using 'play or' a lazy cat taking a quick nap with 'sleep'.

As well as the movements on the HUD you can also choose your eye colour from blue, green or gold and make little kitty sounds to express your mood.

Right now I am going to slink off and brush up against some legs in the most adorable way ever in the hopes of a saucer of milk.

Pin-up Girl

Today I took a look at the new "pin-up" themed collection at Perfect Wardrobe and found myself unable to pass up this really beautiful "Cassandra" skin from Izzie's.

It has inspired the creation of a completely new look for the usually very casual Kook.

Ace of spades pin-up

Yes, Kooky really is under there somewhere. I had to slightly modify my shape so the mesh corset I'm wearing would fit ( I needed bigger boobs!) but other than that nothing has changed.

What a difference a skin makes.!

Ace Pin-up

The corset is from Etchaflesh and comes with FOURTEEN sizes - 7 for prim boobs, 7 for regular boobs - so there should be one that fits, or is close to fitting your shape.

If you want to bag a bargain Etchaflesh have promotional deals on marketplace bringing the price of some corsets down to just L$ 100 from the L$ 275 they're selling for in the in-world store.

I also paid Artilleri a vist and picked up both the glasses and hair from there. The hair comes scripted with a variety of texture options packed into the head scarf.

Finally, after digging around in my inventory, I found these prim heels from HOC. They are another fab and reasonably priced item. The shoes come with a selection of colours and additional textures if you wear your HOC group tag before putting on the colour change HUD. They're not really retro, but heels are timeless!

Ini Inaka @ Nitroglobus Gallery

Ini Inaka @ Nitroglobus Gallery

Last night the official opening party for Ini Inaka's art exhibition at the Nitroglobus Gallery took place and it was a most wonderful and vibrant affair. There was a constant stream of visitors coming to look at the fabulous art, dance and enjoy the wonderfully relaxed atmosphere created by the hosts Dido and Nitro.

I found the works by Ini most intriguing and I think I shall be going back soon for another look around when it will be quieter. If you decide to visit there is a collection of Dido's own works and also several sculptures by Ntro which I loved looking at.

It is great to see things like this bringing people together and getting so much support. The image here really doesn't do the setting or the images you can see justice so if your interest has been captured please do take a taxi and have a walk around.

Raid Death Row - Everything Half Price!

DrD sale

The parole marathon during which Jaimy created 30 brand new items in 30 days is over and there is a big sale to celebrate. Everything in the Death Row Designs main store has been reduced by 50% but only until 5:40pm SLT today.

Leaning on a lamp post

This is an amazing opportunity to pick up some great quality items at super low prices. They have everything  you could possibly ever need from complete avatars to gory accessories and I can't go without mentioning the huge and absolutely awesome range of footwear they sell.

I LOVE DrD products, particularly the boots and have added another couple of pairs to my growing collection today.

This months group gift from *Epic* - A mesh gamer girl dress (long top if you're me!) - appealed greatly to my somewhat nerdy side.

Though I don't play video games nearly as much as I used to these days I've spent many an hour shooting holes through things and running around doing quests to gain XP.

Gamer L4D Tank
( I can't look at this picture without giggling)

Goodness there is a funny smell around here. I am sure it can't be me as I had a bath a week or so ago...

Gamer Hitman

What's that? He's behind me?

I wasn't quite sure how to feature this item in a post until I happened to stumble on a very interesting shop called NiNight Creations. Inside there are some very cool mesh creations including the models pictured above. Along with these two and several others from games there are tv/movie characters including a rather well known wizard.

This shop is great and I think I'll be visiting again real soon.

When SL & RL Collide

It warms my heart and restores some of my faith in humanity when people pull together for a good cause, particularly with the world economy as it is right now.Whether it is something that will benefit one or many the generosity of Second Life residents is something that can't be questioned.

So many good causes are supported in an and around the grid that it is impossible to mention them all. Recently though we've had Wear Grey and the Fantasy Faire. Taking place right now are events such as Culture Shock and the Ashraya project.

Today I want to return to something I posted about a couple of days back here.

Help 4 Shadow @ Collabor88

The owner of Intrigue Co's cat, Shadow, has been diagnosed with CRF (Chronic Renal Failure) and needs to have his kidneys flushed.  I always think that having a pet is like having a child. When they're happy you're happy, when they're unwell you want to do all that you can to 'fix' them and make them better again. The unfortunate thing is, as I am sure you know, it really can be an expensive affair.

After having a sale at her store to help raise funds to pay for treatment the opportunity to help contribute continues through this beautiful piece of art from Toast Bard. You can pick it up at the Collabor88 shopping event that just opened its doors with a new collection.

I get really passionate about things like this and just wanted to help spread the word. The more people that know the more chance there is of Shadow getting his much needed treatment with less of a financial worry for his owner, Katharine.

This really is one of those occasions where every little really does help so please do so if you can.

It's Raining ... Again!

Rainy days

As much as I love to jump in puddles when no one is looking I really have had quite enough of the rain. Last month in my little corner of England it rained every day except for one, ironically right after a hose pipe ban was put in place. We've had flood warnings and all sorts despite being in a drought which shows no signs of coming to an end any time soon.

I wish I had some funky wellingtons like these ones from [Gos] for splashing about in the puddles They are a mesh item and currently a very generous free gift available at the Culture Shock event.

As I have been talking about the fun childish activity of puddle splashing I'd also like to bring your attention to the shirt I'm wearing even though you can't really see it all that well. I picked it up from nestle my bosom's who are currently having a sale. It has one of my all time favourite childhood book characters on it - The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

That's about it for now. I'm going to put down my *Epic* Mushroom umbrella so I can go inside, dry off and warm up with a cuppa tea!

If You're Cute & You Know It...

... Clap your hands.

Butter wouldn't melt

**Claps excitedly! **

A few days back I carried on exploring the world of goodies out there for child avatars in Second Life. I had no idea that it would be so much fun!

I created this cute 'butter wouldn't melt' look by trying my luck on the boards at Mother Goose's. I came up trumps with this beautiful, soft skin called Lena I. It comes in two versions; one with teeth and one without.

There are quite a few skins that seem to be fitting for a younger look on the many boards at Mother Goose's as well as several more if you prefer something more mature. The other great thing is the lucky letters change every three minutes so you don't have to hang around for forever and a day waiting for your letter/number to pop up.

I always find that the marketplace is a good to look through when you have a specific direction in mind. It's also a great place to find inspiration if you want to try something new. While I was browsing I found this cute outfit from LOC that consists of top, capri pants, flip flops and a head band (which I'm not wearing)

Finally to complete the look I hopped over to D!va and picked up one of the many fantastic free (for group members) hair styles that are available. This one is Marie type B in the Cat's eye tone.

Next time I think I'll show you another style I have created that is a little more Kooky by nature. I just had to share this with you though because of the adorable overload factor. She's just sooooo cute!

Until next time,

It's a Bloody [NV] Mad World.

Bloody [NV] Madworld

[NV]  are having a sale where clothing marked with blood drips have been reduced down to just L$ 50. There are a tonne of things available for this price including many mesh items. Everything I am wearing in the picture above are sale items.

I'm wearing:
[NV] Lost Butt  - Wash Jeans - Mesh item
[NV] Trendy Off Shoulder - Kill Zombie - Mesh item
[NV] Orig.Chuckys Classic

The Chucks are amazing and come with a variety of options. You can changed the colour of the laces and different parts of the shoe independently so the combination of colours you can have are quite literally endless. They also have the option to wear socks and/or leg warmers with them which are also colour customisable. These shoes are amazing for the 50 Lindens they cost and are going to become a staple item in my inventory without a shadow of doubt.

The sale is going to be short lived, lasting just 48 hours and I'm not sure when it began. If you want to take advantage of these crazy prices I'd hop on over as soon as you possibly can

Lazy Sunday: Pyjama Party.

Roo n Ram

I love lazy Sundays. Usually it means a snugglefest at home with my beloved, but this week things are a little different.

While the Peach is away, her kitty will play.. Dress-up!

What I love about it most is that I can amuse myself in her absence and be a great source of entertainment when she is back again. I can already hear several words that will accompany the sound of laughter and a shake of the head.

It'll go something along the lines of being told I'm a "silly kitten" and that will be closely followed by something about me being cute and adorable....Which I'm not. These pictures are evidence of that!

Ram and Roo

On the 4th of May Intrigue Co turned three. To celebrate its anniversary three newly released items have been set out for a minimum donation of L$10 each.

There are the two pyjama sets that are shown here as well as a ridable panda which is super cute. This offer will be available until the 7th at which point the items will go back up to the regular price of L$100.

The funds raised from the sale of these items will be going towards vet bills for Katharine's RL cat, Shadow, who was recently diagnosed with CRF.

Please give as generously as you can to this worthy cause.

Danger: High Voltage

High Voltage

From the first to the last day of May the Depraved Nation "High Voltage" grid wide hunt is taking place. There is a list of 61 participating stores that have been hand picked by the people of Depraved Nation to ensure hunters receive high quality items as prizes.

I didn't get all that far yet but decided I'd pause to show you the very first gift from the hunt. This lovely mesh tube top from Razorblade Jacket. Along with this gift for the gals there is something inside the box for you boys too, so why not try your luck and see if you can find the hunt item - a black cylinder with a yellow high voltage symbol on it.

The Demon Inside

I fancied a break from the cute, cuddly and colourful today so I've decided to show you this fantastic, dark, movie themed avatar from Death Row Designs; Hexorcist.

Hexorcist Head Closer

I wanted to show a close-up of the face so you can see just how much work has gone into creating this amazingly detailed skin. I like all the cuts and scrapes, the dry looking lips, but most of all I love all the shading. Particularly the area across the brow ridge. It really gives a sense of something dark and demonic lurking inside the poor girl.

Hexorcist Avatar from DrD

This avatar was made as part of Jaimy's race to create thirty items in thirty days and will set you back just L$300.

Inside the box you receive everything shown above. You get the skin, shape, hair, eyes and outfit.

It's another outstanding product from this great designer and I think it would make a fabulous costume for halloween or movie themed nights.

Kooky's Gonna Gatcha.

I received a notecard yesterday evening to say that a new round of the Gatcha Party had just begun. I really like these kinda things where you have some idea of what you're going to get and yet the colour or version of the item remains a mystery until you've made your purchase.

Gummy bears
(This mouthie comes animated so your gummies are shown every few seconds)

I came across one particular gatcha station that really got my excitabubbles bubbling. I have a fondness for gummy bears and Loka Design just happened to have a gummy bear mouthie up for grabs. I HAD to have it! It took me four tries to get the one I wanted so I ended up with a trio of other new "nahm nahms" too!

nahm nahms - Gatcha Party
(Gummy Bears, Giraffe, Acorn, Shroom.)

There are a number of really great things up for offer. You can see them all here on the Seraphim blog if you want a quick overview or take this taxi to where the party's at.

Oneth of the Month

.:villena:. Varsity Jacket For PW

With the beginning of a new month comes a whole host of new collections at various shopping events around the grid. Add those with an abundance of group gifts from generous store owners/designers and it's like you get an extra birthday every month. It's so exciting!

Today I visited Perfect Wardrobe where the focus is on sports this time round. I picked up this great mesh varsity jacket from .:villena:. for just L$ 90. It comes with a number of alternative versions in sizes for girls and guys.

I'm wearing the open version with a sports bra from *Boom* beneath it in the picture above. Along with that version you get another four that have different t-shirts underneath the jacket. Five different tops for so few lindens is an absolute steal in my opinion.

ID Monster Eyes

I also want to show you a close up of these stunning Insufferable Dastards "monster eyes" which are currently available at the Grunge Soul Project. You get three different versions - Blind, calm (shown), and rage for just L$ 99.
