Funny bones

This is another one of those items that makes me wiggle in my chair and giggle gleefully as I watch Kooky prance about on my computer screen. Then while I'm wiggling a rhyme/song pops into my head.

Head bone connected to the. Neck bone.
Neck bone connected to the. Back bone.
Back bone connected to the....

(Simple skeleton.)

... Them bones, them bones them. Dry bones.
Them bones, them bones them. Dry bones.

La-de-dah. De-do!
I really do need that straight jacket!

(Torso with wings and some hair I shrank down.)

This very well put together micro avatar from House on Fire (who also brought us real pixies)  is an absolute snip at 100L$*. Inside the box you purchase you get two torso options - one with wings and one without - which I think it's very generous and thoughtful of them.

The one without wings gives you an amazing micro Halloween costume and the one with wings leaves you with a range of options and ways to use it. I am sure there are people with creative minds that could come up with a whole host of role play scenes to use the skeleton fairy in. Others might consider getting a band of boney winged kin together and proving to people that saying fairies don't exist really does have consequences!

I do believe in fairies, I do believe in fairies I do, I do, I do!

Until next time,

*You will need  to purchase the NOTSO BIGAVS HUD if you don't already have one for the avatar to work.

It's not a trick...

It's perfectly true,
DrD has a treat for you.
All the "gore" items fit for All Hallow's Eve,
Have been reduced to a price you won't believe!

Just ten lindens will have you looking just right.
In order to give your mates a fright.
There is plenty to choose from as you will see,
When you stare at these pictures of me...

What a sight I am with my shotgun hole,
I guess I could use it as my trick or treat candy bowl!

(Fangs blood 3.)
(Also wearing DrD's Thyia Vampire girl pale dark2. Amazing skin for such a low price. Just $375! wow.)

A vampire kiss in the pits of hell.
Where no one will care when you yell.

Well I don't think I'll be giving up my day job to become a poet any time soon but I had fun giving it a whirl.

Down the Rabbit Hole.

I'm late. I'm late. For a very important date. No time to say "Hello." Good-bye! I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!

"Wait Mister Rabbit, pllllease!"

Oh sweet, curious Alice. Did your mother never teach you that talking to strangers is a bad thing? Surely if she had you wouldn't have considered talking to that white rabbit let alone chase him down a hole with no idea where it would take you.

Lucky for you the story was taken from a children's book where everything is always alright in the end. We know that you'll come across some tricky and sometimes sticky situations but you'll have all the tools you need in your arsenal to overcome them. You'll reach your happy ending...

Well usually, but sorry m'dear. Not this time.

You'll find no Mad Hatter leading a bountiful tea party here. No Cheshire Cat with a smile broader than its face and no queen of hearts with her pack of card guards. Take a peek in the looking glass, Alice. You're not alive anymore. Long gone is your magical Wonderland.

You too can live "Happily never after" in one of the great skins and/or costumes in this range from Death Row designs. Each one is made from scratch and textured to perfection. I almost can't believe that Kooky (well her shape) is buried under there somewhere beneath the broken flesh, blood and D!va hair.

Happy Halloween weekend!

Mmmmm Brains!

Death Row Designs is participating in the Zombiepopcorn hunt!

After looking around for the hidden red and white striped bag of popcorn I was feeling a little hungry. I was about to indulge in the salty snack when I saw severed finger sitting there amongst the puffed up kernels. Ewwww! The shock was too much to take. I let out a blood curdling scream, threw the popcorn and its packet high into the air then watched as it fell back down to earth again.

Red faced I started clearing up the mess I'd made and it came to my attention that the finger was not the only Halloween themed treat I would find inside the bag. There were also two complete zombie avatars - one for the guys and another for the gals.

(DrD Zombie Nazi Male - included shape worn)

Everything you can see me wearing in the picture above comes included in the box. As always the quality and craftsmanship that has been put in by Jaimy is top notch. There is a great deal of detail in each of the items and you even get to pick between two different skins for each sex. It is an incredible hunt gift in my opinion.

(DrD Female Zombie Nazi - wearing my own Kooky shape, not the one included)

Zombie Kook and her band of hungry-for-brains men. Nice! I had to show this picture in particular over the others that I managed to capture because I noticed something interesting! I don't know if any of you follow boxing, but if you do I bet you'll see it the second I mention it if you haven't already. To my mind I see a definite similarity between the zombie directly behind Kooky ( The one with the HUGE looking head) and the British boxer Carl Froch! Sorry Carl if your reading - though I very much doubt you are..Ha!

(DrD free Halloween gift "pumpkinhead" + Zombiepopcorn gift)

I really like this! I combined part of the free Halloween gift that is currently available in store to create this hideous looking headless zombie. In the box along with the version of the severed head you can see above are other options that allow you to have an entrail-dripping pumpkin head either with or without the neck part. Such a fun, gory little item perfect for the holiday ahead. (no pun intended!)

Happy hunting,

I'm So Excited...

... And I just can't hide it...

I had some absolutely wonderful news in the middle of last week and I'm not entirely sure how I've managed to keep it tucked away inside and (almost) all to myself until now. I suppose it has something to do with a busy weekend in the 'real world', but that's another story entirely.

Having bottled it up for a few days this happy news manifested itself in the form of a maniacal five minutes. I was bouncing around, performing back flips with the help of my super funky AO and just generally being a fruit loop when disaster struck!

I took a tumble which was not my fault at all. I didn't fall because I never bother to tie my boot laces I fell because of...uhhh...lag.Yeah, lag. That's it!

(DrD "Battered" Tattoo layer)

Sings " I fought the floor and the floor won."
I know that's not the right words, but they are fitting given the situation.

Anyone would think I'd gone twelve rounds in a boxing ring and I'd far rather let then believe that than have them find out the truth. Admitting you took a tumble, especially as a kitty, when you are always supposed to land on your feet is totally embarrassing. So Shhhh. Please don't tell anyone.

(Back of "Battered" Tattoo layer and DrD cute wristbands)
(Looks a little like I'm licking my wounds better. Teehee!)

Really, I should consider myself lucky because the injuries are nothing a few band aids and a bottle of TCP can't fix. If any of you have ever had the (dis)pleasure of smelling that stuff you'll know that people will be avoiding me for a few days to come, but hey at least my wounds will heal up bug free.

Anyway! To my good news!

I can very proudly announce that I have been chosen as a Death Row Designs blogger! This is an amazing opportunity and I can't thank the owner of DrD, Jaimy Hancroft, enough for giving it to me. I am absolutely over the moon and will do my utmost to show the products in all of their glory both on my blog and in world as I wear them with pride.

Until next time,
A very happy

Emily just got stranger with a twist of Kook.

I was introduced to the Emily the Strange line of products by a friend some time ago now. There is something rather charming about that little cartoon girl and her four black cats. It's not so much how she looks - though her harsh fringe, little black dress and ill fitting mary janes are somehow cute - but what she stands for, individuality.

I had heard that the FTLO... (For The Love Of) hunt was on again only this time with a twist. It had been dubbed with the tag "Boo for 2" which means that each participating store would create two items, one for each sex, offering one as a hunt gift and the other at a low price in the tents above the main hunt area. When I saw the fantastic vampire princess avatar (comes with anime style head, skin, shape and ear add ons)  from Esuga I couldn't resist snapping it up for a mere 100L$. The instant I put it on, for some reason, I was reminded of Emily the Strange.

I had some hair in my inventory that was a perfect fit for my Emily theme and decided that as the avatar was a Vampire princess I'd add my own little twist. The bloody corset is something I had in my inventory for quite some time and the bloody jeans from SiniStyle were a new purchase to help make the look complete. Right at the bottom I'm donning the boots from DrD yet again. They are so versatile that I've not had a need to change them when I've switched outfits lately. Did I mention how much I love them? I think I may have done once or twice.

The face of this avatar is so cute that I couldn't do a post about it without showing you a close up. With the way this avatar has been constructed I think it has versatility written all over it. I am sure it would look the part whether bloodied up like mine or dressed in a Gothic inspired Lolita dress with pretty little shoes.

That's about it for now I think.

A Wedding With A Difference

I ain't afraid of no ghost! And it's a bloomin' good job considering the time of year that is fast approaching. I have always enjoyed listening to the opinions of my friends and family on this topic and I doubt there is a single person that hasn't asked that age old question at some point in their lives; Do ghosts really exist?

Of course they do! And they get married as well. I think it would be very scary to have such a transparent partner - one you could see right though and that could see right though you. Can you imagine what would happen when you caught them telling you one of those little white lies that everyone tells for the greater good of their relationship? I think it would be confusing to say the least...

The Wife        Does my bum look big in this?
The Hubby     Yes, it looks like the back end of a bus, my love.

( I don't think anyone in their right mind would answer quite like that, but if they did it would be about here that the husband would duck out of the way of a shoe or bag shaped missile that had been hurled towards him. He might even have to prepare for a good old slap and/or ear bashing, but... As we are in transparent ghost town...)

The Wife         "Oh, thank you for being so honest my darling. Let me go change."

Like that's going to happen!

(Oh my gosh... I was playing with windlight settings what a fantastic result! I love this shot where you can barely see them. I captured 'real' ghosties!)

These two outfits are available for 100L$ each at XC and Reeb's unless you are patient enough for your letter to roll round on the lucky board then you can have them for nothing. That's a spooktacular deal either way in my opinion.

I think I'm going to go scare a few people. WooooOOOooooOOoooo!

Until next time,

On Death Row with Dido

Lately I've been like a kid with a pumpkin shaped bucket full of sugary treats but it's not the sugar rush that is fuelling my excitement. It's the fact that I have found an abundance of things that appeal to my kooky style around the grid - the majority of which can be found under one roof. You got it. I'm going to mention that store again - Death row Designs, brought to us by Jaimy Hancroft.

Earlier this week Dido and I found ourselves at a loose end so we did what we always do when we're in that situation - We went and had some fun!

 (Grunge Galore and Urban Chic.)

After nagging about how great DrD is I managed to twist Dido's arm enough to get her to accompany me to the store. We had a good look around the fantastic variety of products on offer from the skins and tattoo layers that would be a perfect addition to any Halloween costume to the clothing and accessories. Both of us came away with one of the many very reasonably priced outfits. Dido is wearing DrD's "Urban Chic" and "Bootslazyregblue" and I have on DrD's "Grunge Galore" Don't we look spiffy?

We decided that we'd both blog the items we had purchased which is something I find fun to do. It's super to see how our artistic eye varies when given the same setting and poses. I could hardly wait to see what Dido came up with and I know she is eager to see my post too.

( I wonder if Dido likes what she sees!)

As you can see from the picture above the items at DrD weren't all Dido had her eye on. She's got her eyes on the rear end of a kitteh! Caught you Dido! Hahahaha! I guess I could be wrong in that however. She could have been checking out the very realistic looking rips in my jeans where the bum pockets would usually be.

I had such fun hanging and snapping far too many pictures. Picking which ones to post for you to see was a toughie this time around. The DrD shop, just like the products within, is handsomely made and I wanted to show it of a little.

Alternative Kooky #8

Before sitting myself down with a cup of tea ready to clack away at the keys I found myself thinking about the thing that shall feature in this post and its decline over the years. It sort of made me sad to think about as silly as it sounds. I have fond memories from childhood of going for a ride down the winding and very narrow country lanes with nothing but fields stretching off into the distance. On those journeys seeing these was common place. At one point I even thought they might take over the world like a twist on the zombie apocalypse, but now you just don't see them. In fact I can't remember when I last saw one.

Oh well, there goes my idea for a movie spoof.
Bye bye "Attack of the Killer Scarecrows"

Okay, so I know I don't look like a very scary scarecrow here in my new outfit from Hudson Clothing Co but I couldn't help getting excited over it. It not only reminded me of those jaunts through the countryside but also reminded me of good old Worzel Gummidge, that classic movie The Wizard of Oz and I bet there aren't many children (or grown ups) out there that don't know who Spud is. "Spud's on the job!"

(wearing the scarecrow tattoo layer that comes with the outfit)

I think I might have stayed out in the sun a little too long. I appear to have shriveled up like a prune! Arrrgggghhhh!

Do you think the birds will be a little more afraid of me now? I sure hope so. While I am waiting to see if that is the case I think I might sing myself a little song.

I could wile away the hours
Conferrin' with the flowers...
... If I only had a brain...

Kooky Clobber #6

I have been wanting to share this look with you all for a while now and yet finding a setting to take some pictures that seemed appropriate eluded me until now. I was wandering around a role play sim and came across this park. It reminded me of those days after school where all I wanted to do was get out and play not carry on with another hour or two of homework.

If my uniform had been more like this outfit from Bare Rose I would have been far happier wearing it. I disliked being 'forced' into wearing a skirt (girls at my school weren't allowed to wear trousers back then) and the fact it had to be no shorter than two inches above the knee only added to that agony. I will never forget those 'mini tires' around all the girls' waists where skirts had been rolled up goodness knows how many times to make us, as pre-teens, look less like we were wearing the skirt of a middle aged woman.

A must with all the walking from class to class was a comfortable and hard wearing pair of shoes. Boots like these ones from Death row Designs would have been perfect for the job and far more my style than the ones with buckles I used to wear. I wanted to share a close up shot so you can see the quality of work that has gone into producing them. I really like the urban styling, the textures used inside and out as well as the unfastened laces. That is such a nice little touch. These have fast become a favourite in my inventory. I love 'em!

The park was pretty empty today and I had no one to teeter the totter with. At least I got to play for a while before anyone noticed me. I am a little old to be playing on the slides, swings and seesaws these days. That doesn't mean I don't WANT to though, in fact, that is about as far from the truth as it gets. The body might not be so willing but I'm definitely still a kid at heart!

Alternative Kooky #7

Growing up I could never quite understand why or what it was that made other kids scared of clowns. To me they were just giant goof balls that did silly things so that the likes of me would laugh at their expense. Perhaps that was due to me growing up knowing clowns from kids parties I went to. All they did was make balloon animals and squirt water out of a flower on their chest at the 'naughty kids'.

Then there was Ronald McDonald and his group of friends who always managed to fend off the Hamburglar. Thick milkshake anyone?

(Look into my (repulse) eyes....)

Looking back at it now I wonder why I wasn't scared like some of the other kids were. Surely it is a little bit frightening to look up and see a dude with a smile wider than your head is big.  Then there is the giant ball of candy floss like hair; get too close to that and you could end up trapped forever by its stickiness like a fly in a spiders web eek!. Then we get to the clothing. One clown shoe is surely big enough to harbour a youngster at night. What a unique bed that would be!  Finally we have the trousers. That brightly coloured, wide waisted abyss of material. It would be easy to get lost inside those for months!

After finding the gift apple for the Macabre hunt at my new favourite store - Death Row Designs - I instantly wanted to create a look around the fun but gory item I had received. I decided it would be the perfect addition for a scary (and kinda funny) Halloween clown!

(gory face - the drd macabre hunt gift)

Ewww no wonder kids are scared of clowns - that manky half rotten face would be enough to make any one run a mile. Doesn't she have surprisingly good teeth though all things considered!

The afro hair was a steal at 10L from the market place. The skin was another gift on the Macabre hunt from Pie Hole, and the outfit was from a costume shop in world.

(Had to take a snap so you could see the shoes - aren't they great??)

I am really pleased with how my freaky clown turned out and I can't wait to wear this over the coming weeks to the numerous Halloween themed parties that are going to take place. It should be fun, lots of fun!

Until next time,

The name of the place says it all!

(Unique and awesome I LOVE this place)

When I first walked through the doors of GHOST the warmth of the welcome I received was overwhelming. It was as though I had been going there for years and was already part of the old family furniture. That in my mind is not an easy thing to achieve in either real or second life.

After a summer slumber GHOST rose from its dormant state for its first birthday bash this weekend. I don't know how the other patrons or the owner and her staff felt, but for me the wait for the return of this fabulous place was agonising and could not come quickly enough. I was having GHOST withdrawals!

If I wore a hat I would definitely take it off to the owner of GHOST, Megan Release, and all of her staff. Their love and dedication to the cause and club is apparent where ever you look; from the website to the building itself, the music, the banter with patrons and the atmosphere they create. It makes you want to get involved and join in as you hear and watch them work their magic.

I honestly don't think I have ever seen staff that enjoy themselves as much as the managers, DJ's, Ghostesses and dancers here. I must warn you though, if you plan a visit - which I highly recommend -  pack yourself some clean dry undies you'll be needing them. The GHOST girls are hotter than the 'sins' they commit. If you happen to forget your dry clothing don't fret too much. I am pretty sure that one of the dancers will be more than willing to lend you the shirt off their back, the skirt off the hips..Mmmm... Where was I again? Oh yeah...

If you are stuck for something to do GHOST is the place to be. It is open on wednesdays, fridays and saturdays. It is an all female club though they do have nights and events where both genders are more than welcome to attend.

The music, staff and people that frequent the club make it a very unique and awesome place to dance, hang out, meet new people and be tormented and teased in the most tantalising of ways. I am certain you will be made to feel as though you just came home whether it is your first or fourty fifth visit. I feel like part of the family and hope you will come and be a part of it too.

Until next time,

I'm baaack and ...

I want to take a moment to say a big thank you to my good friend and fellow blogger Dido.

Just when I was in need of a swift kick up the bum and a bit of a talking to she was there to help inspire me and get me back on track with my blog again. Thank you Dido, from the bottom of my heart. You are the bestest bud a girl could ever ask for. <3

Now that Halloween is just around the corner and a whole host of fun creations are popping up around the grid for the occasion I am busting at the seams to share some things I have found with you. I have also fallen in love with a shop I found during the macabre hunt. It is everything I could ever wish for in one store. It has Kooky written all over it. It makes me bounce and smile with glee and I'm eager to share items from there with you and I will do just that very soon!

I also want to thank you, dear reader, for sticking around during my mini break. I hope that the posts to come will make up for the recent lack of them.

Let's get cracking!
